If you like a bit of seclucion then renting a villa in Agia Marina would be just the thing for you. Agia Marina is a coastal village away from the usual tourist resorts, with simple local life, traditional Cypriot tavernas, shops and a village school. The sweeping sandy beach within walking distance from the villas, is a hidden secret and you will often find it all to yourself.
In older times, the village was situated in the area of the old church of Agia Marina near the woods. At the end of the English occupation, the English pretended that they wanted to protect the forest from the inhabitants and the animals. Thus, they convert the woods to lots and sold the land to the villagers. This is how the village was “transferred” from its first location. According to an old tradition, the plague was dispersed in the area but Saint Marina eliminated it before it killed the inhabitants of the village. Thus, the villagers decided to give the name of the saint to the village because she helped them to fight against the disease. The village is known as Agia Marina Chrysochous so that it is distinguished from the other villages with the same name.
Agia marina’s climate:
Cyprus, known as one of the sunniest island in the Mediterranean is located just south of Turkey, southeast of Greece and north of Egypt. Cyprus benefits from long and dry summers often with completely blue skies, making it a year-round idyllic holiday destination. The island enjoys an (almost) year-round sun, meaning it is warm enough, almost every day of the year, to enjoy a satisfying dip in the sea and a lazy day by the pool. Ideal for your villa holiday with a private pool.
Booking a villa in Agia Marina will give you access to the standard amenities such as Wi-Fi, AC and private pools. Sea views from the pool are breathtaking and the beach is within walking distance of the villa. Taverns are also nearby. The supermarket is accessible if you are planning to buy needed supplies or planning to prepare food or plan on throwing a small BBQ get together. The villa gardens are private tended and there is private off road parking. Beautiful sea views from the villa are breathtakingly beautiful.
If you are planning to undertake some activities you might want to consider the following places: The Troodos NationalPark, Dragon Cave, The Motorcross Racing Track, The Baths of Aphrodite. Hiring a car to and from the villa, if necessary.
